Get a written quote

Plenty of electricians don't call back about small jobs. We do them, and we do them the same way as the big ones: agreed before we start, tested when we finish, and tidied up after.

What we're asked for most

  • An extra socket, or a single turned into a double
  • Moving a socket for a new kitchen layout, a wall-mounted TV or a desk
  • USB and USB-C sockets by the bed, the worktop or the sofa
  • Changing switches to dimmers, or adding two-way switching on the stairs
  • Replacing cracked, scorched or loose sockets and switches
  • New faceplates throughout: brushed steel, black, brass or white
  • Fitting a light you've bought, or swapping a pendant for something better
Save a visit

Send a photo of the socket or switch and the wall around it on WhatsApp. For a lot of small jobs, that's enough for John to quote.

Questions

Sockets and switches: common questions

Will you come out for just one socket?

Yes. Richard's review mentions two "reasonably small jobs". That's a normal week for us. If you've got a few small things, group them into one visit and it makes more sense for you.

Can a plug socket be moved?

Almost always. It means running cable to the new position, which on plasterboard is quick and on solid walls means a small chase that's filled afterwards. More in our guide to moving a socket.

Can I choose the finish?

Yes. Tell us what you like, or send a link, and we'll fit it. If you're not sure, we'll bring options that match what you've already got.

Will it be tested?

Yes. Every job is tested before we leave, and you get the certificate.
